Brentford will play at home to Chesterfield or Walsall in the Third Round Proper of the Emirates FA Cup. The two sides drew 1-1 on Saturday at the Proact Stadium and will replay on 15 December for the right to travel to Griffin Park in January. If Walsall progress then Dean Smith will face the Club he left as manager to join Brentford as Head Coach.
Chesterfield and Brentford have never played each other in the FA Cup. Brentford have played Walsall three times in the FA Cup - in 1970, 1989 and 2009 - and progressed to the next round on each occasion.
