Brentford midfield player Jonathan Douglas has signed a new two-year contract extension.
The Republic of Ireland international joined The Bees in June 2011 after leaving Swindon Town and has been almost ever present since.
He has, this afternoon, put pen to paper on a new deal to keep him at Griffin Park until the summer of 2015.
Jonathan started out at Monaghan United and moved to Blackburn Rovers at the age of 18.
He signed for Leeds United in the summer of 2006 after a successful loan spell, which saw him play an important role in the squad that reached the Championship Play-Off Final.
After three years at Elland Road, which included two appearances in the League One Play-Offs, he joined Swindon Town.
In his first year at The County Ground, Swindon reached the League One Play-Off Final and Jonathan was named ‘Player of the Year’.
In his first season at Griffin Park, 2011/12, he missed only 26 minutes of the npower League One season and picked up a raft of ‘Player of the Season’ awards at the end of the campaign.
He has continued in the same vein this term, playing 27 of The Bees’ 28 npower League One games this term.
In his Brentford career so far Jonathan has played 83 games and scored six goals.
