Fullback Dominic Thompson has joined Blackpool on a permanent transfer, for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old travelled to join the Sky Bet Championship side this morning and has now completed his move after three years in West London.
Beginning his career at Arsenal, Dom spent seven years in The Gunners’ academy before moving to Brentford in August 2019. He made five appearances in his first season in West London, serving primarily as backup to Rico Henry on the left side of defence. The following season he played nine times before heading out on loan to Swindon Town.
At Swindon, he played 25 times in League One but couldn’t help the club escape relegation to the fourth tier. He returned to Brentford after the squad achieved promotion to the Premier League and made his top-flight debut on Boxing Day against Brighton and Hove Albion away from home.
He also played against Manchester City the following mid-week and notched up three cup appearances before agreeing another loan switch. This time, he joined League One outfit Ipswich Town until the end of the 2021/22 season. He made 17 appearances during his time at Portman Road as The Tractor Boys finished 11th in the table.
