Brentford’s Development Squad take on Ipswich Town this afternoon in their latest U21 Professional Development League Two South fixture. Monday’s match will be played at Griffin Park, kick-off 1pm, with free entry to spectators via the Braemar Road stand to come and watch some of The Bees' future stars including new signings Emmanuel Onariase and Nathan Fox.
Flemming Pedersen’s side are looking for their win of the New Year after two defeats and a draw to start off 2016. Last time out The Bees let a lead slip to lose 2-1 at home to Colchester United, Macauley Bonne scoring twice after Jan Holldack had put The Bees in front. The defeat leaves Brentford sixth in the table with 25 points from their 18 games. Victory at Griffin Park could move The Bees up to third in the table behind the top two of Charlton Athletic and Millwall.
Monday’s opponents Ipswich currently prop up the table with 16 points from 17 matches but ended a run of nine games without a win on Monday with a 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers. The previous meeting between the two sides saw The Bees run out 3-1 winners in East Anglia back in November: Courtney Senior, Jan Holldack and Reece Cole netting to complete the comeback.
