Brentford Head Coach Dean Smith warned that this Saturday’s game will see a revitalised Huddersfield Town coming to Griffin Park and will give a performance that belies their league table.
“David Wagner has gone in and instilled his own stamp on how they play,” said Dean. “They’ve been quite successful, not results wise but performances. I’ve had them watched the last two or three games and they’ve been very impressive.”
“It takes a while to settle in but they’ve got good players there and it will be a tough game and they will be looking to press us hard.
“He worked at Dortmund in the Under-21 system under Klopp so you’ll see a very similar style to what he’s trying to implement at Liverpool as well.”
The new Head Coach is also looking forward to recreating the Griffin Park atmosphere he experienced in his first game in charge.
“Hopefully we can get Griffin Park rocking because it certainly was against MK Dons,” said Dean. “The supporters were fantastic in their numbers. If we keep putting in performances like we did on that day they’ll certainly be entertained, that’s for sure.
“It certainly gets the players’ juices flowing and they are looking forward to the games over Christmas. This is the first game leading up to it and hopefully we’ll get another big support and entertain them again; the first three games we have scored two goals in each game.”
