David Button said the Brentford defence will now start to build another lengthy run of clean sheets after conceding for the first time for a month on Tuesday night.
The Bees beat Peterborough United 3-2 in a Sky Bet League One match at Griffin Park.
The visitors scored twice around the hour mark to take a 2-1 lead after Brentford had gone in to half time in front.
Brentford levelled and Clayton Donaldson scored a late winner.
The Bees had kept five clean sheets in a row before Peterborough’s double strike and Goalkeeper David, speaking to Bees Player: Match Day Live after the win, the Brentford team would now try to do it again.
He hailed Brentford’s character as they came back to win.
“I have been keeping track and so have the defence,” said David.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better game to lose it in.
“The way we came back was great.
“When you have a clean sheet or two it can be down to the defence or goalkeeper.
“But with this many it is a team effort and the Manager, how he sets us up.
“We press and work from the front.
“We have limited the other teams’ chances.
“It was good while it lasted and we will now try to start another run.”
George Saville also spoke to Bees Player: Match Day Live after the match.
He said Brentford started slowly after half time and that cost them their first half lead.
He praised Manager Uwe Rösler for his substitutions and his team mates for the way they came back.
“We didn’t start quickly enough after half time,” said George.
“We couldn’t get hold of the game and couldn’t get hold of the ball.
“It caught us out.
“We showed good character, the Manager made good changes, we dug in and got three points.
David said Brentford’s players were delighted to come back from 2-1 down to win.
“To come back after that five minute period was great by the lads and will stand us in good stead,” said the goalkeeper.
“There is a buzz in the changing room.
“The lads were delighted.
“But after the initial elation we were preparing for Saturday.
Brentford are now unbeaten in eight in all competitions and have won seven of them.
They have climbed to fourth in Sky Bet League One and are only behind third-placed Preston North End on goal difference.
David said Brentford were not getting carried away and were now focussed on their next match, a trip to Notts County on Saturday.
“We are getting to where we want to be,” he said.
“It has been a fantastic run but we are not getting carried away.
“We will keep working hard and do the basics right and hopefully we will continue to move up the league.
“I think eight games unbeaten shows we are nearly there.
“Teams are always looking to improve and develop.
“There is more to come but we have to be pleased with the way we are playing.”
