Daniel O'Shaughnessy added to his list of international caps for Finland’s Under-21 side last night in Baku as they defeated Azerbaijan 1-0 in a UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying match. Substitute Fredrik Lassas scored the only goal with ten minutes remaining.
The Brentford defender completed 90 minutes and has so far played all four matches in Finland’s qualifying phase for the 2017 finals. Daniel has now represented Finland Under-21 eight times as a Brentford player.
They bounced back from a 4-0 drubbing in Essen last Friday and now sit in joint leaders in Group Seven, level on points with Germany and Austria, but have played one game more than their competitors.
Finland’s next qualifying game is away to Austria in Vienna on 13 November.
