Brentford defender Daniel O’Shaughnessy has been called up to Finland’s Under-21 squad for two upcoming matches.
The 19-year-old defender joined The Bees this summer on a two-year contract after a successful trial.
He has been called up to Finland’s Under-21 squad for upcoming UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying matches against Wales and San Marino.
Finland will play Wales on Friday September 5 and then San Marino on Tuesday September 9.
Both matches will be played in Finland and kick-off at 7pm local time.
Daniel will link up with the national squad on Tuesday, September 2, and return to West London on Wednesday September 10.
He will be looking to add to the three Under-21 caps he has earned so far.
Finland have a chance to qualifying for the UEFA Under-21 Championships.
They are third in Group One, which is led by England, with just the two upcoming games to play.
If they win both they will end with 18 points and will finish second unless Moldova beat England.
The four best second-placed teams will earn a spot in the qualifying Play-Offs and earn a chance to win a spot in the UEFA Under-21 Championships, which will be played in Czech Republic next summer.
Daniel joined The Bees after spending three years with French side FC Metz.
He was born in Finland but holds dual nationality with the Republic of Ireland.
He began his career with HJK Helsinki and spent time on trial with Liverpool in 2011.
