Stuart Dallas said he was grateful for the chance to come on and help Brentford beat Scunthorpe United 1-0 at Griffin Park.
The Northern Ireland Under-21 international was introduced as a substitute around the hour mark with the game at 0-0.
He played a key part in the winner scored by Tom Adeyemi, who had also come off the bench.
Stuart, speaking to The Bees Player Show after the match, said he was told by Manager Uwe Rösler to go on and influence the game.
“I came on at 0-0, it was a tight game,” said the winger.
“If you come on as a substitute you have to influence games.
“He gave me a role to do.
“I am not going to get carried away with how I did.
“I was grateful for the chance.
“Scunthorpe made it very difficult, like a lot of teams.
“We like to pass the ball, teams try to slow us down, we had to keep plugging away and got the goal.”
Bradley Wright-Phillips also spoke to The Bees Player Show after the match.
He said he always believed Brentford would score and they could have had more goals.
“Scunthorpe are going to come here and defend, a point would be good for them,” said the striker.
“We have to find a way to break them down and get goals, which we did.
“We are doing very well.
“Teams will come here and know a point is good.
“We knew we would get a goal.
“We should have scored more, if we had made better decisions around the box, I am guilty of that.”
Stuart made his eighth Brentford appearance in the win.
The youngster moved from Crusaders in Northern Ireland in the summer, stepping up in to full-time professional football for the first time.
He said Uwe, the back room staff and fellow players had helped him adapt.
“I enjoy it when I come on,” he said.
“I have to be patient and wait for my chance.
“Thankfully today the gaffer gave me my chance and hopefully I repaid him.
“I knew coming in at the start of the season it wouldn’t be easy and I would not play too many matches.
“The gaffer has really helped me.
“Everyone has helped me adapt to this level, hopefully I can push on and play a part in the run-in.
“You have to be a lot fitter here.
“The game is a lot more physical.
“In Northern Ireland the league is of a good standard, it doesn’t get the credit it deserves.
“It was a massive step.
“I wouldn’t have come if I didn’t think I was capable.
“Brentford gave me my chance and I’m really enjoying it.
“I have settled in well.”
Bradley joined The Bees on loan from Charlton Athletic last month.
He made his third appearance and completed his first 90 minutes against Scunthorpe.
“I am getting fitter,” said the striker.
“I think it was my best game since I have been here but I am trying to take every game as it comes.
“I have completed a game now after playing 60 minutes and then 70.
“I just want to score some goals for Brentford.
“I am a big fan of how the gaffer works in training.
“He tells us how he wants us to play against the team we are playing and that helps us as strikers build partnerships.
“If the boys keep producing the chances, we will score goals.”
Brentford climbed to fourth in npower League One with the win.
They are four points off the top and have games in hand on every team above them.
The first of 13 remaining games is against Stevenage tomorrow night.
“We will take one game at a time,” said Stuart.
“The focus switches to Tuesday night, not beyond that.
“That is a massive game; we are under no illusions as to what that will be like.
“We will go there for three points.”
