Brentford Football Club has received letters from the Football Association asking for an explanation for incidents of coin throwing that have occurred during recent matches at Griffin Park.
In the official reports from the match officials after the last two home fixtures – against Fulham on November 21 and Wolverhampton Wanderers on November 29 – it was noted that coins were thrown on to the pitch during the match.
The officials have reported the coins came from sections of the stadium that house Brentford fans.
The FA has written to Brentford asking what the Club is doing to stop such actions continuing.
The Club would like to remind supporters that throwing anything on the field of play is extremely serious.
It is illegal, against Ground Regulations and puts others in danger, both on the pitch and in the stands.
The Club will be checking CCTV and if any individuals are identified as being responsible, action will be taken.

The Club would like to reiterate how seriously all breaches of Ground Regulations are treated, particularly those which put fellow supporters and players at risk.
There will be sanctions for anyone caught and identified and these can include being banned from Griffin Park.
Mark Devlin, Brentford FC Chief Executive, said: “Our supporters have been fantastic this season, giving real backing to the team – as Mark Warburton regularly comments upon – and helping to generate and maintain a superb atmosphere both home and away.
“Incidents like the ones we have seen in the past two games do, however, present us with a problem.
“There is the potential for fines from the FA and even a reduction in the capacity of Griffin Park.
“The passion of our supporters needs to be maintained but anything thrown on to the pitch can cause serious injury and we must stamp it out.
“The Club will impose bans on anyone identified and I hope Bees fans will help us find those responsible that are giving Brentford a bad name.”
