Ahead of Brentford's Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest, a Remembrance event will be held at the location of the club’s Remembrance plaque.
The event has been organised by the club and official supporters’ group Bees United.
The private service takes place before the match and will be attended by club and Brentford Community Sports Trust representatives, as well as members of Bees United and fan group Brentford Independent Association of Supporters (BIAS).
The service takes place next to the club’s plaque, near to entrance C, which was unveiled in 2024 to honour former Brentford players who lost their lives during the First and Second World Wars.
Brentford chair Cliff Crown said: “Every year, at Brentford, we take time to remember those who fought for us and our future and those who lost their lives in wars. It is a time of reflection, for those who were selfless and sacrificed their own lives to protect our community.
“We will always remain grateful and keep their memory alive.”
Don Tanswell, Bees United secretary, added: “More than 30 Bees players lost their lives in conflict, serving their country with bravery and courage. They paid the highest price and we honour them.
“At Bees United, as fans, we often say, ‘Once a Bee always a Bee.’ In their case, the ultimate sacrifice wasn’t part of a match, but of something much more serious. We will gather together to remember their sacrifice and to mourn their loss.”
Ahead of kick-off on Saturday, the club will honour those who lost their lives in wars. Teams will be led out by servicemen, who will lay wreaths on the pitch. Supporters and players will then take a moment of silence to remember the service and sacrifice of all those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life
Fans attending the fixture are encouraged to be in their seats by 2.50pm to join in the tribute.
We will remember them
In memory of the members of Brentford Football Club who lost their lives in the World Wars.
