Christian Norgaard cut a frustrated figure following our 3-2 loss to Fulham.
We fought from two goals down to draw level during a rollercoaster game at Craven Cottage, but Aleksandar Mitrovic’s late header consigned us to our first defeat of the Premier League season.
“We played poor in the first half, then bounced back well,” said Christian.
“We were by far the better team in the second half, but we didn’t learn the lesson from last year that if you sleep for just a short time then you’ll get punished in this league.
“Mitrovic on the back stick – a lot of teams have seen that before. We prepared for it, but it’s tough sometimes to do the job when the legs are dead. It feels like a big loss today; we should have at least had a point.
“Our fans were really good and we enjoyed their support today. They carried us throughout the second half and we’re just sorry that we couldn’t get the three points.”
A sweetly struck volley, the Denmark international opened his account for the campaign at the end of the first half.
“I’m happy with the goal, but standing here afterwards with zero points, I can’t use it for anything,” Christian continued.
“It was a well-drilled corner kick; it worked well during training and luckily it worked well during a game.
“But I don’t really think about it. I think more about my pass back to Mitrovic that almost gave a goal away. That’s on my mind right now, not the goal.”
