Brentford's Futsal BTEC Scholars return to the court today, Wednesday December 10, for their sixth match day in the F.L. Futsal League South East Division.
The Bees return to Futsal action at Barking today when the A team play Southend United while the B side go head to head with Peterborough United.
Brentford have had to endure a mini injury crisis over the last seven days but will have all but one of their players ready to take to the court in the last set of fixtures before the Christmas holiday period.
The whole of the futsal squad took on a challenge last week as they played Escolla Futsal Academy, who are coached by a trio of Brazilians well versed in the game.
Aiming to play against a futsal specific team provided the players with a great opportunity to learn in a competitive environment.
Having conceded a lot of possession in the first period, the young Brentford scholars settled down and started to give their opposition a game.
The final period of the game saw the Bees dominant but losing 3-2 with lots of lessons learned from playing against an excellent team.
The A team can go into the festive break in the top half of the table by beating Southend but face a tough test against The Shrimpers as each team attempts to keep the pressure on for a top two finish.
Inconsistency has been the biggest issue and a run of good form will be needed if the first year scholars want to be in contention for the end of season League One play offs.
The B team face Peterborough United, who they beat 5-0 in the opening game of the season, and will hope to repeat the outcome if not the result.
With the season starting to take shape Brentford, despite their last second defeat against Chelsea a fortnight ago, feel that they are starting to get to grips with League Two.
With plenty of games to go the Bees will look to finish 2014 on a high note.
Brentford FC Futsal club will be taking part in Sky Sports Soccer AM Cup.
The first round takes place in early 2015.
