Brentford Women’s First Team travel to Northcourt Road on Sunday as they face Abingdon United in the Second Qualifying Round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup in a 2pm kick-off.
Following their 5-4 win against Woodley United in the First Qualifying Round of the competition, the Bees will be aiming to beat a strong Abingdon United side, who ply their trade in the Southern Region Women's Football League Premier Division.

A Chloe Logie hat-trick and goals from Kirsty Matthews and Sophie Troth were enough for the First Team to see off Woodley United and proceed into the next round of the FA Cup, but after the defeat to Dulwich last weekend, Manager Karleigh Osborne will be looking for a response from his side.
Speaking on the game at Abingdon, Osborne said: “I’m looking forward to seeing the girls play again in such a famous competition, it’s a big game and we are hoping for a good cup run.
“I feel after the Dulwich loss it’s important to get back to how we want to play, I am looking for a good solid performance and want to see some good football from everyone. I want Abingdon to feel under pressure the entire game.”
The hosts for Sunday’s game beat the Bees at the same point of the competition last season so Osborne and his players will be going into the match with redemption on their minds.
Our B team are also in action this weekend and are set to take on AFC Leyton on Sunday, in the Greater London WFL Division One North at Bedfont Sports Centre in a 3pm kick off.
A last gasp screamer from midfielder, Kasey Clifford, proved to be too little too late for the Bees as they were beat 2-1 by East London Ladies in their last outing.
Ahead of the match against AFC Leyton, B Team Manager, Tommy Ryan-Maynard said: “Last weekend we weren’t our usual selves, so I am looking for a reaction from the girls. I want us to get back to our basics and I feel if we can mix that with working hard at the same time there’s no reason why we can’t come out with a win.”
