Brentford Women’s striker Chloe Logie was left pleased after her two goals helped the side to their sixth consecutive league win with the battle for the title now going down to the final day.
The women’s first team striker extended her goal tally to 35 for the season as her strikes in either half ensured the win for her team in what was a dominant display in South London.
Speaking on the victory, Logie said: “I’m really happy that we managed to get another three points, we definitely deserved the win and I thought we controlled the game throughout it was another match where we showed that we can perform under pressure.
“We knew coming into the game that Whyteleafe would be a tough challenge so to get that goal to put us ahead was a great feeling. We were disappointed to go into half-time level but there wasn’t much we could do it was just a great header from a corner, but we managed to get the win in the end so it all worked out.”
Chloe was speaking after grabbing the winner for Brentford Women and her second of the game 10 minutes after the break in a strong performance from the travelling side.
The number nine did well to deal with plenty of adversity during the game with the Whyteleafe defenders putting in some strong challenges on the league’s top scorer throughout.
“It was a tough match for me but I have to thank my teammates who had my back especially the midfield which drove me to keep pushing for goals,” explained Logie.
“When I play in physical games in the moment it can be tough but I understand it’s only going to help me in my development as a player and I feel like I’m getting used to dealing with this style of play.
“I think this season has been a good one for myself to be the top scorer in the league is a great feeling, there has been games where I haven’t been too pleased with my performances but overall I’d say I’ve done well.”
The Bees will now turn their focus to the final game of the season where they take on Watford Ladies Development away from home with the side needing to win but also rely on Dorking to drop points, Logie feels her team can be proud of their achievements so far.
“We have done really well this season to keep ourselves in the running for the title it’s now just a case of making sure we win our final game and hoping Dorking drop points but whatever happens we will deal with the situation in the best way possible.”
