Brentford Women secured a third-straight London South East Division One North win over Actonians Reserves on Sunday, saluting 4-0 at Bedfont Sports Club.
A Chloe Logie hat-trick was the highlight of the performance, her partnership with Nikki Woods a key aspect of the Bees’ win, Woods also scoring a goal in the victory.
The opening 10 minutes of play was a stalemate, neither side able to attack with authority once in possession.
Woods changed that on 14 minutes, her corner kick just missing multiple players as they searched for a header in front of goal.
She went one better two minutes later, taking possession on the left side and steering the ball central, before sending a powerful strike into the top right corner to give the Bees a 1-0 lead.
Logie nearly added a second goal moments later but her shot went wide left. She didn’t waste any time getting another chance on goal though, finding the back of the net from close range after a Woods’ cross to make it 2-0.
The momentum had completely shifted in Brentford’s favour, Woods proving a hassle for Actonians’ defenders down the left side, while Logie was consistently a threat up front.
The visitors nearly found their first goal through a header from a corner on 35 minutes, however it sailed over the bar.
The Bees continued to press after the near goal, Woods, Logie and Regan Graver each having a shot on target inside the last five minutes of the half, none of which found the back of the net.
Logie changed that with her second goal in the final minute of the half, pouncing on a loose ball and chipping it over the Actonians’ keeper to make it 3-0 at half-time.
While Brentford continued to dominate the early stages of the second half, Actonians defended strongly and limited the Bees’ shots on target.
The side’s best chance came on 75 minutes when Sophie Troth broke away down the right side and crossed the ball to an open Logie, who found the back of the net for her hat-trick after having a similar shot saved minutes earlier.
Evie Witek’s clean sheet came under pressure late, the keeper saving a strong strike which rebounded to an Actonians’ striker whose shot was deflected away by Graver.
Ellen Wardlaw nearly made it 5-0 on 89 minutes, her powerful shot flying to the top right corner before being well saved by Actonians’ keeper.

Karleigh Osborne pleased with 90-minute effort
Brentford Women head coach Karleigh Osborne was full of praise for his side after a dominant 90 minutes against Actonians.
While Chloe Logie was the star with a hat-trick, Osborne was pleased with his squad's performance across the board in an impressive display.

"Really, really pleased with that performance, I think that's our first kind of full 90 (minutes) in terms of the level of performance being good and being high," said Osborne.
"Over the moon with all the squad, I thought everyone was brilliant and added something to the game today and obviously over the moon with the performance."
The Bees kept a clean sheet for the first time this season, Osborne praising his defensive unit for their season to date.
"In fairness to the defensive unit, they've been brilliant all season the way they've defended," said Osborne.
