Brentford FC Futsal Club resume their FLT League programme with an ‘A’ and ‘B’ team West London derby against Chelsea at Barking today.
This season’s previous encounters between The Bees and The Blues were extremely close, with the ‘A’ team losing 2-1 and the ‘B’ team losing on the buzzer 3-2.
Chelsea have won eight of their nine league games but surprisingly failed to make it through to second round of the Soccer AM Cup and like Brentford will take part in the Plate competition.
The Futsal Bees ‘A’ team will be confident going into this match off the back of an excellent 3-3 draw against the highly fancied Brighton and Hove Albion squad last time out.
Abas Ali also returns to the ‘A’ team squad after an injury and will certainly strengthen the options the Bees have tactically.
The ‘B’ team also are injury free and with the addition of Strength and Conditioning Coach Marti Gotsov, the boys are starting to feel the benefit of his input.
It’s a busy week for the BTEC students as they were presented to the crowd at half time during the Blackpool game yesterday and will attend England’s Futsal friendly with Sweden at The Copperbox on Friday.
Two Brentford FC Futsal Club players, Brad Scott and Abas Ali, will represent the South East FA Centre of Excellence Squad on Saturday in an exhibition Under-19 match prior to England’s game against the Swedes.
