Brentford FC is now into the second half of its 125th Anniversary season.
As part of the celebrations Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has been running a season long football tournament for primary school teams in five boroughs - Hounslow, Ealing, Spelthorne, Hillingdon and Richmond - where the Club has a presence.
Each tournament sees 25 teams from 25 schools (years three & four) take part in a borough qualifying tournament.
One team is crowned borough winner along with a runner-up team.
Both these teams then go on to represent their borough in the grand final tournament that takes place at Griffin Park in May 2015.
This will see them compete against the winners and runners-up from the other borough tournaments.
Prior to Christmas, the first two of the five qualifying tournaments were held, in Hounslow and Ealing.
The Hounslow tournament took place at GOALS Soccer Centre in Osterley and was won by Our Lady and St Johns, Brentford with St Mary’s Primary, Isleworth finishing as runners-up.
The Ealing tournament took place at GOALS Soccer Centre in Wembley and was won by Southfield Primary, Acton, with Mount Carmel Primary, South Ealing, as runners-up.
The final three tournaments will take place throughout March and April 2015.
The Trust has extended the format to include up to 36 teams per tournament.
This will allow for schools to enter more than one team.
