Brentford Football Club celebrated the achievements of its young players at Griffin Park earlier this month.
Saturday March 8 was Academy Day at Griffin Park and players from the Club’s young teams were in attendance to watch Brentford beat Bradford City and continue their push for promotion from Sky Bet League One.
As well as an important three points, the day also saw the annual recognition of the Brentford FC Academy.
Bees Review, the match day programme, focused on the Academy and at half time, players from the Academy squads – the Under-Seven to Under-18 line-ups – walked around the pitch.
There was also time for Academy Director Ose Aibangee handed out ‘Player of the Quarter’ Awards to players from the Under-Nine to Under-16 squads.
Ose said: “The Academy has always had fantastic support from everyone at the Club, from the owner down.
“I am delighted that the Club recognises the achievements of our young players on a day such as this and all the boys enjoyed their day.
“It certainly helped that the First Team came up with the goods as well.
“The reception the boys got from the supporters was tremendous and I would like to think some of these lads will be playing in front of these fans in the future, albeit not at Griffin Park.
“I should also add that the Bradford fans gave the boys a great reception as well, which was much appreciated.
“This is one way we can show our young players that they are part of the Club and that their future at Brentford FC is a bright one.
“It was a fantastic day for everyone connected with the Academy and I’d like to thank the Brentford fans for their support of our young players.”
