Brentford fans will travel more than 6,500 miles during the 2016/17 season in support of Dean Smith's team. Last season saw great numbers of Bees fans clock up 6,267 miles in support of the team but that distance is going up this season. In total Brentford fans will travel 6,540 miles from Griffin Park to all 23 away grounds during the 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship.
The longest trip of the season will be to St James' Park for a first match against Newcastle United in 15 years, a 582 mile round trip, with the visit to Preston North End the second longest at 470 miles. There are also more than 400 mile journeys to Leeds United, Wigan Athletic, and Blackburn Rovers. At the other end of the scale just four and a half miles separates Brentford and Queens Park Rangers with Fulham just a mile further. Reading, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Ipswich Town will all see fans clock up less than 200 miles for the round trip.
For fans looking to tick off new grounds next campaign there will be a first ever match against Burton Albion, a 282 mile trip, and a first visit to Villa Park, a 242 mile journey, since 1953.
