Lee Carsley's Development Squad recorded a victory this afternoon in a mid-season friendly against Oxford United at Jersey Road.
The Bees used the match to give game time to a number of Under-18s and Under-16s with only Mark Smith playing more than 45 minutes.
Under-16 Josh Bohui started the first-half and he was instrumental in the game's only goal which arrived in the 21st minute.
It was the winger's jinking run that found a trialist in space inside the box to roll home under the visiting goalkeeper.
The match was played under glorious blue skies and on an immaculate pitch which suited Brentford's passing style.
The visitors defended well and looked threatening on the counter-attack and should have equalised through James Roberts just before half-time but he put his shot over the bar from close range.
Among the players to feature in the second-half were Under-18s Gradi Milenge, Kyjuon Marsh-Brown, James Ferry, Zain Westbrooke and Jeremiah Kamanzi.
The second-half saw less in the way of goalmouth action, the nearest either side came was a Ferry effort that flew over the bar from the edge of the box.
The Development Squad are in action against next Tuesday as they travel to Charlton Athletic for their penultimate Under-21 Professional Development League Two South match.
Many of today's squad will hope to be involved for the Youth Team this Saturday as they travel to Sheffield Wednesday looking for the win that could wrap up the Under-18 Professional Development League Two South title.
