The left back joined The Bees from Millwall on a two-year contract earlier this week.
The 26-year-old said he decided to leave Millwall to play more games and as soon as he heard Brentford were interested he wanted to meet Manager Uwe.
Scott said he had been very impressed by the Brentford boss and wanted to be part of what was happening at Griffin Park.
“It was something I wanted to do,” said Scott, when asked why he came to Brentford.
“I didn’t play as many games as I would like last year at Millwall and the manager said I wouldn’t get as many games as I would hope this season.
“I looked for pastures new.
“As soon as I heard of Brentford’s interest, I definitely wanted to meet with Uwe Rösler.
“He has been very impressive; he sold his ideas and the Club to me.
“I am pleased to be here.”
The defender, speaking exclusively to Bees Player, said he wanted to make the left back position his own.
Fellow defender Tony Craig also joined Brentford from Millwall this summer and Scott said he had spoken to the centre half.
“I know Tony Craig and Sam Saunders,” he said.
“I asked Tony about the Club and his first impressions.
“He was very positive.
“My aim is to come here and make the left back position my own.
“I will play elsewhere if asked but I want to nail down the left back slot.”
Scott, like Tony, was part of the Millwall team which won promotion from League One via the Play-Offs in 2010 and he has played more than 50 games in The Championship in the past two seasons.
“This is a tough league to get out of,” he said.
“I have been promoted and I would like to replicate that here.
“I might be able to bring a bit of knowhow and hopefully that will stand us in good stead.
“This is a strong looking squad.
“There is a strong core and if you have that you have every chance.
“I am looking forward to pulling on a Brentford shirt and doing my best in what will hopefully be a good season.”
