A young Brentford Development Squad were soundly beaten tonight in a friendly against an impressive Ashford Town outfit.
After an even opening half-hour the hosts struck three times in four minutes just before half-time to take control of the game.
Lee Carsley's side improved in the second-half and Montell Moore's goal ten minutes into the second-half kept the game alive.
However Samad Kazi's late header settled matters for the hosts at the Robert Parker Stadium.
16-year-old Tom Roberts started in goal with Joe Maloney making his first appearance in three months, following an injury, at right-back.

Tommy Brunton shot over before Brentford carved out their first opportunity on the half-hour: Louis Hutton's curling effort from the edge of the box was turned away by Tyler Tobin after good work from Tyrell Mitford and Herson Rodrigues Alves.
Brunton forced Roberts into a good low save before the hosts took the lead nine minutes before the interval as Kazi's shot from the right-hand edge of the box took a flick off Daniel O'Shaughnessy to send it past Roberts and into the far corner.
Brentford had hardly come to terms with going behind before they conceded a second as Tobin's long clearance flew over The Bees backline and Fleming raced in to slide past Roberts.
The game was effectively put to bed three minutes later as Alex Fisher's free-kick caused confusion in The Bees six yard box and Jack Mullan reacted first to poke home from five yards.
Having looked to play a passing game it perhaps didn't do the hosts the credit they deserved that their three goals had come from two long clearances and a free-kick although they most certainly weren't complaining at the interval.

The Bees improved markedly after the break and began moving the ball quicker across the heavy surface.
Moore gave them a lifeline eight minutes into the half finishing off a sweeping move involving Maloney, Tyrell Miller-Rodney and Udamaga from the edge of the box.
However the goal didn't really spark a Brentford comeback as the hosts continued to look the more threatening.
Roberts tipped a Russ Canderton header over the bar, Chris Mepham blocked well from Max Webb and substitute Jack Manger battled well before forcing a good save from Roberts.
The nearest Brentford came to getting back to within one goal was when Udamaga's rasping left-footed shot flashed wide of the post from distance.
The hosts made the game safe with ten minutes to go as Kazi met a deep Webb free-kick and flicked a header past Roberts and into the back of the net.
Brentford kept fighting until the end and Moore's free kick dipped just too late as it flew narrowly over the bar.
Kazi could have completed his hat-trick late on but Roberts was up well to turn his header over the bar while Moore came close to a second in injury time only to be denied by replacement goalkeeper Jake Tayler.
