A late goal from Carsten Weis denied Brentford a win on their opening game of the 2012 German tour.

The striker turned and shot from the edge of the penalty area with two minutes of the match remaining in a contest that Brentford should have wrapped up before then.

Brentford started brightly, and within two minutes trialist Joe Tsoumou headed the ball into the net only for the effort to be ruled out for offside.

In front a crowd estimated at around 700, Jake Reeves gave the visitors the lead in the 31st minute.

The 19-year-old midfielder advanced with the ball, gliding past two defenders and struck a left-foot shot past goalkeeper Chris Flader.

Uwe Rösler made several changes at half-time, with most players getting a forty-five minute run out.

Mid-way through the second half Jonathan Douglas had only Flader to beat but his shot cannoned off the goalkeeper's body.

Brentford looked to have secured the victory before Weis's strike levelled matters, the game ending in a draw.
