Brentford defender Charlie Goode will return to training with his team mates this week after a spell out with illness. The centre half, who joined The Bees before the start of the season, has been away from the Training Ground in recent weeks. The exact nature of his illness is subject to patient confidentiality, but the Club can confirm Charlie has not tested positive for Covid-19.
Charlie resumed training on his own late last week after he was cleared to return by the Club’s medical team. He will join in group training this week. Given he has been away from training for a period of weeks, he will not return to the matchday squad immediately and his progress will be assessed.
Charlie joined Brentford from Northampton Town in August. The 25-year-old, who captained The Cobblers to success in the Sky Bet League Two Play-Offs last season, agreed a four-year contract when he moved to West London. He made his Brentford debut against Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup in September and has played five games for The Bees so far, two in the Sky Bet Championship.
