Brentford FC’s Under-18 side will begin their 2022/23 league campaign on Saturday 6 August, as they take on Cambridge United at the Premier Plus Stadium in the South East Youth Alliance League. Kick-off will be at 11am at the home of St Neots Town.

Following the Club’s announcement last month that it had been granted a licence to open and operate an Academy under the Elite Player Performance Plan, Brentford’s Category Four Academy will now begin its games programme this weekend.

The Under-18 side will be run in conjunction with the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust this season. Staff from the Post-16 Education Programme will be part of the Under-18 coaching group over the course of the 2022/23 campaign as the Club continues to recruit in the coming months to add to the new Academy structure.

The playing squad will include players who form part of the Football Education Programme at the Trust. The young players will have the opportunity to form part of the Academy at Brentford, taking advantage of a wide range of educational tools with their welfare at the forefront of our plans as we aim to ensure that the players not only grow as footballers, but also as young people.

For those supporters who wish to attend the match on Saturday, entrance to the game is free of charge.
