It could have been so different were it not for two last minute equalisers against Saint Mirren in the opening round. Trailing 1-0 in the first game, Lewis scored an 84th minute goal through Ollie Watkins to send the game to a replay before then finding himself 3-1 and 4-3 down in that second encounter. This time it was Josh Dasilva who kept us alive with a 94th minute strike. It was then definitely a case of third-time's a charm as Lewis put Saints to the sword with a fine attacking display ending in a 6-2 win.

There was another Celtic challenger for Lewis in Round Two, this time in the shape of Finn Harps. There were no such dramas this time round as each of our midfield trio found the net. Mathias Jensen opened the scoring early on with Christian Norgaard doubling the advantage on the stroke of half-time. The away side netted in the second period but it never looked like Lewis would lose control of the game, with Dasilva making it 3-1 towards the end of the game.

Round Three saw Lewis' most complete performance as Forest Green Rovers were swept aside 3-0. Watkins bundled home an early opener with Dasilva curling home a fine effort shortly after. The second-half saw Pontus Jansson strike a post and Watkins miss a penalty before the game was wrapped up late on. Jensen beat the offside trap only to see his effort strike a post, however Watkins was there to slam home and set up tonight's mouth-watering tie.

The tournament, started by Leyton Orient, is helping to raise money for EFL clubs in trouble given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, as well as for two charities including MIND. The total so far has almost reached £55,000. You can donate here.
