Young players Charlie Adams, Tyrell Miller-Rodney and Luke Norris were at Griffin Park today [Tuesday] to sign new professional contracts.

The trio were three of six members of Brentford Football Club’s successful Development Squad offered new contracts this summer.

They have put pen to paper to confirm they will be staying at Griffin Park.

Josh Clarke and Aaron Pierre are expected to sign their new contracts shortly while Antonio German has turned down his offer of a new deal.

Charlie Adams has signed a new two-year contract while Luke Norris has signed on for another year.

Tyrell Miller-Rodney has just completed the second year of a two-year scholarship and played for the Development Squad in 2012/13 as he was too old for the Youth Team.

He has signed a one-year professional contract to be part of the Development Squad for 2013/14.

The Development Squad will be looking to repeat the success of last season when they finished fourth in the Under-21 Professional Development League Two South standings in the first season of the new league.

Charlie Adams, 19, made 19 appearances in the Professional Development League this season and scored seven goals.

He also made his Football League debut as a substitute in an npower League One game against Carlisle United.

Striker Luke Norris, 20, finished as Brentford’s top scorer in the Professional Development League, hitting ten goals in 18 games.

Central midfield player Tyrell, 19, has played 11 Professional Development League games this season.

Development Squad Manager Jon De Souza, speaking to Bees Player at the end of last season, said: “I feel all the players we have offered contracts to have a chance of playing in the First Team.

“As good as the season has been in terms of results and performances, we are here to produce players for the First Team.

“I haven’t signed players for the Development Squad; I have signed them because I think they can play for the First Team.”

Charlie, Luke and Tyrell all spoke to Bees Player after completing the paperwork – see interviews with the three soon.
