The young left back joined the Yorkshire club in August in a deal that ran until yesterday, Monday 1 January. With the loan now at an end, Tom has returned to west London and will join up with Brentford for training after tonight’s game against Sky Bet Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In just under five months with Bradford, Tom played nine matches. Eight of them were from the start and eight were in League One. His last action for Bradford was helping them to a 2-1 win away at Fleetwood Town yesterday, playing the later stages of the victory. Those three points leave Bradford fifth in League One.

Tom has been with the Brentford since he was 15 and turned professional in 2015. The 20-year-old made his Championship debut in the 3-0 west London Derby win over Fulham in April 2016, only a few weeks after his 19th birthday. He played 17 games for The Bees last season, 15 of them in the league. He also scored his first professional goals – two against Eastleigh in an Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie and his first league goal against Preston North End a few weeks later.
