Youth Team defender Seth Owens has joined National League South side Hayes and Yeading United on Work Experience. The 18-year-old completed his move this morning and is expected to go straight into Gary Haylock’s side for their Boxing Day clash at home to Weston Super-Mare.

Seth signed a scholarship with The Bees in the summer of 2014 and was a key player for the Youth Team last season as they made the U18 Professional Development League Two Play-Off final, featuring 25 times, scoring twice. The left-sided defender missed much of the early part of this season through injury but, since making his comeback in November, has featured for both the Youth Team and Kevin O’Connor’s Development Squad.

Academy Director Ose Aibangee said: “This is a very good opportunity for Seth to go out and to play men’s football. Hayes and Yeading have got some very important matches coming up and it will be great for his development to play under that pressure, especially at a time when the Youth Team and Development Squad have no fixtures.”

Hayes and Yeading are currently 15th in the National League South, three points above the relegation zone ahead of their Boxing Day match with fellow strugglers Weston Super Mare.
