Spanish winger Sergi Canos joined iFollow for a talk about his 2017/18 season with The Bees. The 21-year-old started with a look back at the final day 1-1 draw with Hull City, during which he scored the opening goal.

"I think it was a positive day," said Sergi. "The last game of the season I thought we played really good but we didn't win so that's the part that we have to improve.

"[Individually] there's still a lot to improve and to do. With the goal and some chances I think we saw today a bit of the old Sergi."

The win secured Brentford another top 10 finish in the Sky Bet Championship, a team milestone from Sergi's perspective. He also told us about the way his term ended after a tricky start.

"It's very important and the gaffer wanted to finish in the top 10, so yes that's very positive. It's got better for me. It was a bit frustrating at the beginning with my two injuries but I think after that I tried to give everything. It wasn't my best year but I can be proud with what I have done.

He gave us an idea of what he would be up to over the summer to stay fit and come back refreshed for the new season.

"Obviously I will train. Well, now I will relax and enjoy my time with the family. Then I prepare myself to come back even stronger.

"I think we are ready to make that extra step next season. If we keep everyone in and go in the same direction we can do great things."

He ended the interview by giving us his highlight of the 17/18 campaign and, unsurprisingly, it was a moment that most Brentford fans will enjoy.

"Probably the goal at home against QPR," said Sergi. "It meant a lot to me and the fans. I always say whether the fans are on us or supporting us, they play a big part in our performances."
