Brentford B were beaten 5-4 by West London neighbours Fulham on Saturday morning in an entertaining pre-season fixture at Motspur Park.

Ryan Trevitt, Halil Dervişoğlu, Alex Gilbert and a Brentford Trialist got the goals for The Bees as players got significant minutes under their belts in the match.

The B Team had a selection of First Team players involved for the short trip across the capital as the likes of Dervişoğlu, Tariqe Fosu and Myles Peart-Harris all started.

There was an early chance for the home side on four minutes when a cross came in from the left-hand side and it skipped past Nico Jones before Terry Ablade was found at the far post, but he shot wide of goal.

On 10 minutes Fulham found the net through Ablade when he was played inside by Sylvester Jasper before he opened his body out and curled into the top right-hand corner to make it 1-0.

A few minutes later Brentford fashioned a really good chance when Dervişoğlu dropped deep to receive the ball, and after turning well, he floated a ball over the top into the path of Trevitt. The ball was then played back to Dervişoğlu, who crossed for Peart-Harris whose effort was saved.

Just one minute later The Bees were level and it came through a penalty. Fantastic skill from Trevitt saw the youngster beat his man before being hauled down before he could fire at goal. He then stepped up to slot home the spot kick.

On 21 minutes The Bees went in front, and it involved some fantastic work from Dervişoğlu. He chased down one of the Fulham defenders before robbing him of possession and driving in on goal. As the keeper rushed out, he slotted calmly into the bottom right corner.

Brentford weren't ahead for long, though, as Fulham levelled through Ollie O'Neill a couple of minutes later. Work down the right-hand side saw the ball crossed low along the edge of the box before the Fulham number 10 slotted into the net with his right foot low past Winterbottom.

After 25 minutes it became 3-2 in a quite sensational opening period. Once again, Dervişoğlu dropped deep before he then found the run of Gilbert who drove in on goal centrally and he finished with composure into the bottom right corner.

Another chance fell for The Bees on 30 minutes when once again they got forward in numbers. The close control and movement from Trevitt and Gilbert made it difficult for the Fulham back line as they combined before Trevitt powered an effort towards the near post which was well saved by the keeper.

Seven minutes before the break it became 3-3 as O'Neill notched his second of the game. In a crowded area The Bees tried to clear but good work from Jasper saw him square the ball before O'Neill slotted in at the far post.

The second period didn't start quite as frantically and it took about about 10 minutes for the first real attempt. One of the Trialists, who came in at right back, crossed and it took a deflection onto the cross bar.

A couple of minutes later Fulham were handed the chance to go ahead from the spot after a foul by one of the Trialists. Jean-Pierre Tiéhi then converted with precision to make it 4-3 to the hosts.

On 68 minutes The Bees had a good chance and it came from some tenacious play from substitute Luka Racic. After winning back possession on half way, he charged forwards and managed to force his way through the Fulham midfield and defence before being pushed wide. His low cross then found its way to Peart-Harris, whose shot was well blocked.

After Fosu was replaced on 76 minutes for one of the Trialists, The Bees won a corner and the ball was played into the centre of the goal for the same Trialist to head home with his first touch into the bottom corner to make it 4-4.

With nine minutes to play, the hosts went back in front when a low ball into the box was slotted home at the near post by Callum McFarlane to make it 5-4.
