The Young Icelanders took a first-half lead against their hosts at the Arslan Zeki Demirci Spor Kompleksi in Manavgat through Brynjolfur Darri Willumsson. The points were then secured with six minutes to play thanks to a strike from Andri Lucas Gudjohnsen. Patrik saw his hopes of a clean sheet disappear in the final minute of added time as Yunus Akgün pulled one back.

The cap was Patrik’s second at Under-19 level, and 12th in total.

The win sets Kristinn Rúnar Jonsson’s side up nicely for a game against England, who beat Moldova 4-0 in their opener, which comes up on Saturday.
