Brentford attacker Myles Weston has left Griffin Park to join npower League Two Gillingham.

The 24-year-old linked up with the Kent club this week and has signed a two-year deal with The Gills.

Myles joined Brentford in the summer of 2009 from Notts County.

The left sided attacker made an immediate impact at Brentford, scoring twice on his debut on the way to ten goals in his first campaign at Griffin Park.

In just over three seasons at Griffin Park he made 129 appearances for The Bees and scored 14 goals.

Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler said: “Myles is a fantastic professional and I have spoken with him many times about how much playing time he will get with us.

“With our preferred system not including wingers, we felt he would get limited game time this season.

“Myles and I have a great relationship and whenever we have spoken we have always tried to find a way for him to play First Team football.

“This is a move that will be of great benefit to Myles and is a great opportunity for him.

“We simply could not guarantee him First Team football at Brentford and he has moved somewhere where he will play more often.

“I wish him all the best at Gillingham, I hope he grabs the opportunity with both hands and I hope he has a successful future.

“Everyone at Brentford feels the same.”
