Brentford B round off their pre-season trip to Wales with a match against Swansea City’s Under-21s on Saturday morning.

The 11am kick-off will give Neil MacFarlane’s side the opportunity to continue to build their match sharpness having taken on the likes of Salisbury FC and Maidenhead United in recent weeks.

Saturday’s match will be played behind closed doors at the B Team’s training base.

The best of training

The B Team have been putting in the pre-season work of late having spent the week in South Wales for a training camp. Following the match with the Swans, they'll head back to West London to continue their pre-season campaign.

The opposition

The Swans began their pre-season campaign with a 5-0 win against Treflin BGC on 9 July before drawing 2-2 with Stevenage Under-21s in their second clash. The Swans came from behind twice in the game, with Josh Thomas and Kai Ludvigsen grabbing the goals for the side.

The team news

The young Bees will have a similar squad to that of their previous pre-season encounters in recent weeks. New players Yehor Yarmoliuk and Kyreece Lisbie will look to add more minutes as they continue to settle, as will Max Dickov and Max Wilcox who also arrived this summer. Alex Gilbert will likely feature once again too after he put in two impressive displays against Salisbury and Maidenhead, captaining the side on both occasions.

Last time we met

Last season Brentford B headed to South Wales to come up against a Swansea City XI which featured a selection of First Team players as well as some of their younger players. An exciting encounter in the wind and rain saw Nathan Young-Coombes grab both the Brentford goals on the day.
