Mads Bech started at the heart of The Danes defence while Mads Roerslev came on for the final 20 minutes in Szombathely. Up against a side that included Wesley Fofana, Mattéo Guendouzi, Amine Gouiri, and Odsonne Edouard, Denmark limited France to just two shots on target all game before striking with 15 minutes remaining.

It would prove to be The Danes only shot on target all night as Anders Dreyer picked up Jacob Bruun Larsen's through ball, rounded Alban Lafont and slid home.

The victory sets Denmark up nicely to make it through to May's Quarter-Finals with Iceland and Russia still to play. The appearance was Mads Bech's seventh at Under-21 level while Mads Roerslev was making his fifth outing.

That game between Russia and Patrik Gunnarsson's Iceland ended in a 4-1 win for The Russians. Patrik played the full 90 minutes but was beaten four times in a 21-minute period either side of the interval.

The appearance was Patrik's 11th for his nation with number 12 potentially coming against Mads and Mads in Győr on Sunday afternoon.
