We are pleased to announce the signing of J’Neil Bennett who has joined Brentford B on a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season. There is also a Club option of an additional year.

The 20-year-old came through the ranks with Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur, where he went on to feature for the North London side’s Under-21 group, featuring in Premier League 2 as well as the UEFA Youth League.

Whilst with Spurs, J’Neil became the first player to score at the club’s new stadium in 2019 as he featured for their Under-18s in a match against Southampton. He also went on to make his senior debut for the club when he featured against Pacos Ferreira away from home in a UEFA Europa Conference League fixture.

Whilst in the youth ranks at Tottenham he made 40 appearances in Premier League 2 for the side and also featured seven times in the FA Youth Cup, scoring twice.

J'Neil

J'Neil was most recently part of the youth setup at Tottenham

J’Neil also spent time on loan with Crewe Alexandra in Sky Bet League One during the 2021/22 season. The winger spent a short period with the young Bees at the start of the campaign and has since returned to full fitness following a back injury. He has been in training in recent weeks with Neil MacFarlane’s side and will add further options to the group ahead of the rest of the season.

Discussing J’Neil’s arrival, Brentford B Head Coach Neil MacFarlane said: “J’Neil came in and made a fantastic impression on us in the summer because he has fantastic quality in the final third. He got injured and it’s been a difficult period for him. We’ve been able to help him get back to full fitness and we know that looking at the games ahead he can make a real impression on the squad because of his quality at the top end of the pitch. We hope he can assist and score for us and keep adding to our attacking elements and the players that we have who have done so well for us. It creates more competition for places which is what we want.”
