Brentford midfield player Jan Holldack has signed a new B Team contract. The 21-year-old put pen to paper on the new one-year deal today, Thursday 22 June, after returning from his native Germany, where he has spent the past six months on loan. Jan – who can also play in defence spent the second half of the 2016/17 campaign with Wuppertaler SV. He will link up with Brentford B for pre-season training when it starts tomorrow.Jan joined The Bees in the summer of 2015 after his contract at 1. FC Köln expired. The German under-18 international had been with Köln since he was 15 and played for them in the Under-17 and Under-19 Bundesliga. Jan made his Brentford debut in the EFL Cup against Exeter City last August after featuring for the First Team in pre-season, he was also an unused substitute against Huddersfield Town on the opening day of the Sky Bet Championship season. In his half-season in the German fourth tier Jan played 13 games in all competitions and scored three goals.Robert Rowan, Brentford FC Head of Football Operations, said: “I’m looking forward to having Jan back with us this season. It is positive to see him continuing to score goals from midfield in First Team football.”
