Ian Carlo Poveda came off the bench to help England's Under-16s get their Nike International Tournament campaign off to a winning start in Florida last night against the hosts, USA Under-17s. Dan Micciche's side took an early lead through Reading's Danny Loader but the Americans scored twice after the break through Chris Goslin and Andrew Carleton to take control. Ian Carlo, the only player in England's 20 man squad from a Category Two Academy, had been on the pitch just five minutes when Manchester City's Jadon Sancho levelled with 17 minutes to play and it was the City striker who grabbed the winner in injury time to complete the turnaround.

Next up for England are Brazil on Friday, 8pm kick-off UK time, and that match can be watched live at www.youtube.com/ussoccer.

Ian Carlo joined The Bees from Barcelona in the summer of 2014 and made his Under-21s debut aged 15 against Charlton Athletic in April. This season he has scored three goals in 11 appearances for the Under-18s and also featured from the bench for the Under-21s in their win against Birmingham City.
