Winger Akaki Gogia has left Brentford and joined German side Sportgemeinschaft Dynamo Dresden e.V. for an undisclosed fee. The 25-year-old – known to most as Andy – spent last season on loan with the German second tier side. That season-long loan expires today, Friday 30 June, and an agreement has been reached for Andy to join Dynamo on a permanent basis.

Andy joined The Bees in the summer of 2015 from German side Hallescher FC, arriving on a free transfer. He played in 14 matches for The Bees in his first season at Griffin Park, 13 of those in the Sky Bet Championship. Born in Rustavi, Georgia, Andy previously won Youth International honours with Germany at Under-18 and Under-19 levels. He started his senior career with VfL Wolfsburg, spending loan periods with FC Augsburg and FC St. Pauli before his move to Hallescher in 2013.

Andy enjoyed a successful season in 2.Bundesliga with Dresden. The attacker played 24 games in all competitions for Dynamo and scored ten goals. He got all ten in the league for Dresden as they finished fifth in their first season after promotion from the third tier. All at Brentford FC would like to wish Andy all the best for the future.
