Brentford has teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice throughout the 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Best of the Bees

Brentford remain unbeaten at the start of the 2026/27 season following a 1-1 draw with Sunderland.

Keane Lewis-Potter (£5.5m) was the Bees’ chief attacking threat on Saturday afternoon. The FPL midfielder had three chances of his own and created a further three for his team-mates.

Bees supporters and FPL managers alike were disappointed to see Nathan Collins (£5.5m) forced off early with a calf strain.

However, his replacement, debutant Jannik Schuster (£4.5m), registered 10 defensive contributions, enough to earn two additional defensive contribution points.

Vitaly Janelt (£5.0m) also reached the defensive contribution threshold against Sunderland.

Janelt registered 12 defensive contributions, the number required for midfielders to earn the additional two points. He was Brentford’s top FPL scorer in Gameweek 3, returning 11 points for his goal, defensive contribution points and maximum bonus.

Mikkel Damsgaard (£5.5m) is owned by only 0.5 per cent of FPL managers but could be an intriguing differential in the coming weeks.

Damsgaard registered eight points in Gameweek 3 courtesy of his assist. Like Janelt, the Dane also received maximum bonus after the pair tied at the top of the Bonus Points System.

Damsgaard’s eight-point haul and 0.5 per cent ownership both check against current FPL data.

The Spotlight

Janelt could be the perfect budget-friendly investment for FPL managers.

Often, when investing in cheaper players, managers have to compromise on the likelihood of points returns in order to meet their squad’s budget requirements.

However, Janelt could be an exception. The midfielder is priced at just £5.0m in FPL but has scored and reached the defensive contribution threshold in both of Brentford’s home matches this season.

Across the opening three fixtures, he has also registered three shots and created four chances.

The midfielder has played the full 90 minutes in all three games and has several potential routes to FPL points.

Janelt has taken seven corners so far this season, the joint-most in the Brentford squad. Set-piece responsibility can be particularly valuable for FPL managers as it increases a player’s potential for attacking returns.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old has already surpassed the one goal he registered in each of the previous three Premier League seasons.

I prefer this section considerably after the change from “three close-range shots”. Janelt's current FPL data also confirms the £5.0m price, 21 points overall and 11-point Gameweek 3 haul.

Best of the Rest

Elsewhere in Gameweek 3, more than 3.4 million managers transferred in either Rayan Cherki (£7.8m), Yoane Wissa (£6.2m) or both, only to see them blank.

Alexander Isak (£9.1m) was a popular sell among FPL managers ahead of Gameweek 3. The Liverpool forward scored twice and registered maximum bonus en route to a 13-point haul against Ipswich Town.

Isak’s team-mate Cody Gakpo (£7.2m) assisted both goals to return 11 points for his owners. Liverpool won 2-0 at Ipswich, with Gakpo supplying both assists.

Tyrick Mitchell (£4.5m) was the top-scoring player in Gameweek 3. The Crystal Palace defender scored twice and registered maximum bonus against Fulham.

Meanwhile, Leeds United’s Jayden Bogle (£4.5m) scored and was substituted before his side conceded, meaning he retained his four clean-sheet points. Bogle’s clean sheet and goal helped him return 14 points.

In Demand

Liverpool’s Gakpo has registered the most points in FPL this season. The midfielder has delivered an attacking return in all three matches, totalling 28 points.

As a result, Gakpo is the most transferred-in player heading into Gameweek 4, with more than 500,000 managers already purchasing the Liverpool attacker.

Gakpo’s team-mate Isak is also among the most popular additions, with more than 350,000 new owners so far this week.

Those numbers are already slightly ahead of the 491,000 and 347,000 in the supplied copy, so I would use the rounded figures above. Current trackers drawing from the FPL API have Gakpo above 500,000 transfers in and Isak above 350,000.

Alongside Liverpool, many FPL managers are also targeting Chelsea assets.

Chelsea host Hull City in Gameweek 4, with Hull the only side yet to concede in the Premier League this season.

João Pedro (£7.7m) is already highly owned, so managers are beginning to double or even triple up on the Blues through Cole Palmer (£9.6m) and Morgan Rogers (£7.6m).

Freeing up budget to buy the likes of Palmer and Rogers helps explain why Bruno Fernandes (£12.0m), Bryan Mbeumo (£7.9m) and Dominik Szoboszlai (£7.0m) are among the most-sold players.

Captaincy

Although Erling Haaland (£15.5m) has a good record in Manchester derbies, with eight goals in seven league meetings, many FPL managers could instead look to a Chelsea attacker for the captaincy.

Each of Pedro, Palmer and Rogers has already registered at least three attacking returns this season and, unlike Haaland, the Chelsea trio have no midweek European fixture to contend with.
