Brentford striker Marcus Forss has been named in the Finland squad for three upcoming matches. The 21-year-old has been selected in a 25-man group for games against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine and Switzerland. The first two matches will be the opening ties for Finland in the qualification campaign for the FIFA 2022 World Cup with the last a friendly international.

Finland have been drawn in to Group D of the European section of the World Cup qualification process. As well as Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine, they will face defending champions France and Kazakhstan. They start with a home game against Bosnia and Herzegovina next Wednesday, 24 March, before travelling to Ukraine on Sunday 28 March. They then head to Switzerland for the friendly.

Marcus made his full international debut last November and has won three caps for his country, scoring once.  That goal came in his only international start to date, as Finland beat France in a friendly away from home. That added to 11 goals in 21 international matches across the age groups at youth international level.

The striker is approaching 50 games for Brentford after coming through our B Team pathway. He joined Brentford B from West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 2017 and his goal scoring form earned him a place in the First Team group in the summer of 2018. He has scored ten goals for The Bees in 48 games and also scored 11 goals in 17 league appearances for AFC Wimbledon on loan last season.
