Brentford’s Mark Flekken and Bryan Mbeumo have been nominated for Premier League Save of the Month and Player of the Month respectively.
The Bees duo have been recognised for their impact in August.
Thomas Frank’s side began the season with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, with Flekken playing a key role at Gtech Community Stadium.
Late in the second half, as Palace pushed for an equaliser, Tyrick Mitchell worked the ball inside to Eberechi Eze, the midfielder’s shot struck Nathan Collins and Flekken adjusted superbly to acrobatically tip the ball over the bar.
Mbeumo has started the season in fine form.
He too was instrumental in the win over Palace, opening the scoring with a sublime finish.
Christian Nørgaard, Yoane Wissa and Mbeumo combined superbly down the right and the latter raced towards goal. Marc Guéhi stepped across to halt Mbeumo and narrow the angle, but the forward cut in on his left foot and drove hard and low beyond Dean Henderson.
Mbeumo netted a brace against Southampton last time out to make it three goals in as many appearances.
The Cameroon international gave Brentford the lead just before the break, stroking into the bottom corner after Kevin Schade struck the base of the post.
His second goal extended the Bees’ advantage. Jan Bednarek’s ball to Jack Stephens was intercepted by Mikkel Damsgaard, who immediately played a positive forward pass. Mathias Jensen calmly rolled into the path of Mbeumo, and the forward found the far corner.
Voting for both awards closes at 12pm on Monday 9 September.
