Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Kevin Schade and Mark Flekken have been recognised by the Premier League for their impact in August.

Mbeumo has been nominated for Player of the Month, Schade is in the running for Goal of the Month, and Flekken is on the shortlist for Save of the Month.

Mbeumo has stepped up in the absence of Ivan Toney and scored a joint-high tally of three goals in August.

The Cameroon international netted on the opening day during a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, and then scored a brace the following weekend as Brentford beat Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage.

Kevin Schade’s first Bees goal was well worth the wait. Against Crystal Palace, the 21-year-old picked up Christian Norgaard’s switch on the left, then toyed with Joel Ward before firing a powerful effort beyond Sam Johnstone.

Mark Flekken also shone during the 1-1 draw with Palace, making a superb double save at Gtech Community Stadium.

From a right-sided corner, Flekken pushed away Jefferson Lerma's header before getting up quickly to block a follow-up effort from Jordan Ayew at close range.
