Bryan Mbeumo’s eye-catching performances in October have earned him a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month award.

The Brentford forward scored three goals in as many matches, taking his tally for the season to eight, starring in home victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town.

The Bees began the month by beating Wolves 5-3 in a pulsating encounter at the Gtech.

Mbeumo converted cooly from the penalty spot during the first half, sending keeper Sam Johnstone the wrong way.

Following a 2-1 defeat at Manchester United, the Cameroon international struck twice in the Bees’ 4-3 win over Ipswich, again stroking home from 12 yards before scoring a dramatic late winner.

In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Mbeumo swung in a cross from the right. Goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, expecting a touch, remained rooted to the spot, but no contact came and the ball nestled into the far corner to send the Bees fans into raptures.

With his match-winning brace against Ipswich, Mbeumo chalked up 50 direct goal involvements as a Premier League player.

The Cameroon international has been simply electric this season and a key cog in Brentford’s impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign, with the Bees now ninth in the top flight.
