Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has given an injury update on some notable absentees from the Bees' 1-1 pre-season friendly draw with Watford on Saturday.
Mads Roerslev, Ethan Pinnock and Vitaly Janelt were all involved in recent pre-season fixtures but missed the game at Vicarage Road.
Aaron Hickey and Rico Henry are longer-term absentees for the west Londoners, having been unavailable for the majority of the 2023/24 campaign, and Frank has revealed how close all of his injured players are to returning to first-team action.
On Roerslev, Pinnock and Janelt, Frank stated: "It's minor, minor issues with all three. It's a combination of pushing people, but also making sure we have a full squad available for the first game of the season.
"I am very confident that all three of them will play against Wolfsburg next week and all three of them will be available for the first game of the season.
"If it was a World Cup final, all three of them would have played today."
On Hickey and Henry, he added: "Both of them are progressing very well, but both of them could be tight to be involved in the first game of the season."
