Teenage German defender Jan Holldack has joined Brentford today as part of the Development Squad after his contract at 1. FC Köln expired.

Jan, 19, who has two Germany Under-18 caps has signed a two-year contract at Griffin Park, subject to international clearance.

He will initially be part of Brentford’s Under-21 group and train with Development Squad Manager Lee Carsley and his assistant Kevin O’Connor.

Jan has been with Köln since he was 15.

He has played for them in the Under-17 and Under-19 Bundesliga.

Robert Rowan, Head of Football Operations at Brentford FC, said: “We are really pleased to have Jan on board and training with our Development Squad.

“Jan joins us from FC Köln, a club with a good reputation of player development, so we are confident that not only are we getting a player with the fundamentals to be a First Team player but also the professionalism and personality to develop in London.”
