Brentford B defender Daniel Oyegoke has joined Sky Bet League One side MK Dons on a season-long loan deal.

The defender was part of Brentford’s pre-season camp in Germany and has now moved to Stadium MK ahead of this week’s start of the EFL season.

The 19-year-old, who recently won the Under-19 European Championships with England, will now continue his development playing men’s football in Milton Keynes after an impressive first season with Brentford.

Daniel arrived in West London at the beginning of the 2021/22 season after departing Arsenal, with whom he rose through the ranks to turn out for the Under-18 and Under-23 sides at the Emirates Stadium.

His first season working under Neil MacFarlane and his staff saw him play 24 times for the young Bees as they played fixtures on home soil, as well as in Portugal and Monaco.

Following his first campaign, Daniel headed to Slovakia with England this summer and played in every fixture as the Young Lions were victorious as they beat Israel in the Final of the European Championships.

The Dons made it to the Play-Offs last term, losing out across two legs to Wycombe Wanderers in the Semi-Finals. Their squad also includes former Brentford midfielder Josh McEachran, who signed a new contract this summer.

Discussing Daniel’s loan, Brentford B Head Coach Neil MacFarlane said: “I think it’s a fantastic move for Daniel. He will go to a team that play a really good brand of football. More and more of our young players are getting the opportunity to step out on loan into the Football League which is positive to see.

“Daniel has developed massively over the course of his first year with the B Team and we were delighted to see him flourish in the summer with England. He now has the opportunity to go on loan and I think it’s one that he will go and grab with both hands. He has all the attributes of a modern full back and he will now continue to add to his game with MK Dons. He’s in a good place and we look forward to watching his progress."
