Brentford has announced the club’s financial results for the year end June 2024.

Results show that turnover remained consistent with last year at £166.5m (2023: £166.5m).

Broadcasting income remains one of the primary sources of revenue for the club with sponsorship income an important priority in the coming years.

The club recorded an operating loss before player trading of £29.2 million (2023: profit of £4.4m). This was primarily due to an increase in player wages, player amortisation and depreciation charges.

Brentford were able to benefit from player trading, bringing in £25.2m profit from the disposal of players (2023: £5.6m).

Club owner Matthew Benham’s total investment in the group on 30 June 2024, comprised of equity and loans, meanwhile remained at £104.4m (2023: £104.4m). This sum includes £22.8m (2023: £22.8m) of loans specifically in relation to the stadium project.

Cliff Crown, chair of Brentford, said: “Our third season in the Premier League demonstrated the collective efforts of everyone involved at the club. While the team faced challenges on the pitch, the commitment and resilience of our players, staff, and supporters remained strong.

“We continued to make strides, with our owner Matthew Benham, the board of directors, and our dedicated staff driving progress. Our fans and partners have provided important support throughout the season, reinforcing our ambition for continued growth and success in the Premier League.
