Christian Nørgaard is set to make his return from injury when Brentford face Newcastle United this evening. The Bees face their Premier League opponents in the Carabao Cup Quarter Final in a match that will kick-off at 5.30pm. This will be the first time Brentford have ever reached this stage of the competition.

As part of their preview of the tie, The Times have conducted an interview with Christian. The Danish international midfield player spoke to Alyson Rudd last week. He then appeared for Brentford B against Huddersfield Town and was an unused substitute as The Bees beat Reading on Saturday.

Christian picked up an injury in October and has not played since. The injury came a few weeks after he made his international debut and he missed six games for Denmark when he had a chance to stake a claim. That was one of the topics that was discussed by Alyson and Christian.

In the interview, the midfield man reflects on the end of last season, when The Bees finished third in the Championship and lost in the Play-Off Final, as well as his relationship with Head Coach Thomas Frank. Christian talks about the Club's identity and looks ahead to this evening's game. The interview is behind a paywall but can be seen here.
